Privacy policy

This privacy policy is designed to meet the requirements of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (‘GDPR’), the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (‘FADP’) and the revised Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (‘nFADP’).
Personal data is treated as strictly confidential and is neither sold to nor shared with third parties. We work closely with our hosting providers to protect databases against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or falsification to the greatest extent possible. Please note that online data transfers generally contain security vulnerabilities. As such, it is not possible to completely protect data from access by third parties. However, we make every effort to keep our website up to date with the latest security standards. When you access our web pages, the following data is stored in log files: IP address, date, time, browser request and general information transmitted regarding the operating system or browser. This usage data forms the basis for statistical, anonymous evaluations in order to identify trends, which we can use to improve our offerings accordingly. By using this website, you agree to the collection, processing and use of data as described below.

Collecting and processing personal data

We primarily process personal data that we receive from our customers and other business partners as part of our business relationship and from other people involved in such relationships or that we collect from their users when operating our websites, apps and other applications.

Website contact form

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comment form, along with the visitor’s IP address and user agent string (which identifies the browser) to help detect spam. An anonymised string may be created from your email address (also called a hash) and provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The privacy policy for the Gravatar service can be found here: automattic.com/privacy/. After your comment has been approved, your profile picture will be publicly visible in the context of your comment.

Where we send your data

We may share personal data with third parties with the data subject’s consent if this is absolutely necessary to render a service or based on a legal permit or obligation.

Right to the content, images or other files on the website

Copyrights and all other rights to content, images, photos or other files on the website belong exclusively to Colordesign AG or the specifically named rightsholders. The copyright holder’s prior written consent must be obtained to reproduce any elements.

Use of cookies

This website uses cookies. These are small text files that make it possible to save specific user-related information on the user’s device while they use the website. In particular, cookies make it possible to determine the frequency of use and number of page users and to analyse page usage behaviour, but also to make our site more customer-friendly. Cookies are saved at the end of a browser session and can be accessed again when you revisit the site. If you do not want cookies to be saved, we recommend changing your web browser settings to ensure that cookies are rejected. If you leave a comment on our website, you may consent to your name, email address and website being saved in cookies. This occurs for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in all your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies are saved for one year. If you have an account and sign in to this website, we will save a temporary cookie to determine whether your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser. When you sign in, we will set up cookies to save your sign in information and display choices. Sign in cookies expire after two days and display choice cookies expire after one year. If you select ‘Stay signed in’ when signing in, you will be kept signed in for two weeks. When you sign out of your account, the sign in cookies will be deleted.

SSL encryption

This website uses SSL encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as any enquiries you send to us as the site operator. You can recognise an encrypted connection by your browser address bar changing from ‘http://’ to ‘https://’ and by the lock symbol being shown in your browser address bar. If SSL encryption is enabled, the data you send to us cannot be read by third parties.

Server log files

The website operator or site provider collects data regarding access to the site and saves it in ‘server log files’. The following data is logged in this way:

  • Website visited
  • Time of access
  • Amount of data sent in bytes
  • Source/reference which directed you to the site
  • Browser used
  • Operating system used
  • IP address used (anonymised if applicable)

The data collected is only used for statistical evaluations and to improve the website. However, the website operator reserves the right to subsequently check server log files if there are concrete indications of illegal use.

Use of Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, which is a web analytics service from Google Inc. 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (‘Google’). Google provides a browser plug-in at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout to disable Google Analytics. Google Analytics uses ‘cookies’, which are text files that are saved on your computer and facilitate analytics on your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually sent to a Google server in the USA and stored there. However, if IP anonymisation is enabled on this website, Google will first truncate your IP address within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be sent to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, compile reports on website activity for website operators and provide other services related to website activity and internet use. Google may also transfer this information to third parties if required by law or if third parties process this data on Google’s behalf. The IP address sent by your browser as part of Google Analytics is not merged with other Google data. Google adheres to the privacy provisions of the ‘Privacy Shield’ agreement and is registered on the U.S. Department of Commerce’s ‘Privacy Shield’ programme. It uses the information collected to evaluate the use of our website, compile reports for us and provide us with other related services. You can find out more at https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/9019185. You can prevent cookies from being saved by changing your browser settings accordingly. However, please note that doing so may leave you unable to use all of the features of this website to their full extent. By using this website, you agree to Google processing data collected concerning you in the manner and for the purpose described above.

Embedded content from other websites

Posts on this website may contain embedded content (e.g. videos, images, posts, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves exactly as if the visitor is visiting the other website. These websites may collect data concerning you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking services, and monitor your interaction with this embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are signed into that website.

Storage period

We process and store your personal data for as long as this is necessary to meet our contractual and legal obligations or for other purposes pursued by the processing, i.e. for the duration of the business relationship and beyond, for example, in accordance with legal retention and documentation obligations. Consequently, it is possible that personal data will be retained for the period in which claims can be asserted against our company and to the extent that we are otherwise legally obliged to do so or that legitimate business interests require us to do so (e.g. for evidence and documentation purposes). As soon as your personal data is no longer required for the purposes mentioned above, it will generally be erased or anonymised as far as possible.

Data security

We take appropriate technical and organisational security precautions to protect your personal data from unauthorised access and misuse, such as IT and network security solutions, access controls and restrictions, and encryption of data carriers and any transmissions.

Changes

We may make changes to this privacy policy at any time without prior notice. The current version as published on our website applies.
